Difficulty navigating through the city meant that we got a bit of a tour of Strasbourg in the morning. The picturesque centre and impressive buildings more than made up for its pikey campsite. Followed a lovely straight canal out into the countryside, but made slow progress as it was the hottest day yet. So hot we didn't even feel hungry, which has to be a first. Finished the day on quiet country lanes as we headed back towards the Rhine. Ended up in another dodgy campsite, this time a deserted derelict place charging extortionate prices. We coughed up the money with a grumble, as our tired legs didn't fancy cycling on.

You have now passed the 1,000 mile counter!! Excellent. Hope your campsites, and inhabitants thereof, start to improve soon. At least the weather is good at long last. I don't suppose Luke mentioned the excellent swimming pool he went in when he was last in Strasbourg - although no great slides in this one - just lovely cool water on a boiling hot day!!
We are having trouble keeping up with your country hopping at present - we were out on the bikes yesterday, but only managed 2 counties and not 2 countries - map co-ordinates and elevation available (if required)
Continue peddaling and enjoying XX
How about some more pics of these camp sites? Off to the allotment now.

Would you like a barchart of your daily distance covered?
