Woke in the middle of the night to a massive thunderstorm. We could see the lightening through the material of the tent, and the cracks of thunder were earsplitting as the sound reverberated off the linestone walls of the gorge. Just as we were drifting off again after the storm had passed, our neighbour's reinforcements arrived at the ungodly hour of 6:30am. Rather than waiting till a decent hour, they proceeded to unleash their children who rode around tooting their novelty bike horns and set up their large sprawling camp. At one point they even backed a trailer into a tight spot right next to our tent, slamming their car doors and rummaging in the trailer right next to our heads. All this resulted in us setting off rather sleepy, and as the heat of the day increased a campsite with a swimmingpool next to it materialised. We decided this was a sign and set camp early in order to go and snooze by the pool.
