Day off in Han sur Lesse
Visited our first tourist attraction, The Caves of Han sur Lesse. We were carted by tram from the village the few km to the entrance to the caves. As the only English speaking people there, so were caught inbetween a load of geriatric Germans, and a gaggle of prepubescent French. Managed to understand most of the tour by a badly written guide that had been shoved at us. We were busy tutting at a German who kept touching the stalagmites when we'd been told expressly not to, until we realised he was blind. Towards the end we were treated to a subterrainian sound and light show. Plinky plonky music and blinky lights. Followed by a bit of dramatic music and some red and blue lighting. They seemed to enjoy periodically plunging us into darkness for long moments aswell. A short boat trip took us out of the caves on the river that formed them. We avoided being herded with the other visitors onto the other spurious amusements, although the 4D spieliodrome did pique our interest.
