Dillingen to Nuberg

Sometime in the night the rain stopped and we awoke to a fine day. The Danube was a rushing, boiling torrent brown with mud and full of debris. It was at the top of its banks as it ran past the campsite. Had it rained anymore we may have been swimming for higher ground instead of contiuing our ride During the day we saw it had flooded quite impressivly in a number of places and counted ourselves lucky. In the evening we made our camp next to the river (fingers crossed!) by an impressive walled town full of brightly painted and very grand houses.

Glad to hear you were not rained out. We had a wonderful weekend at Bowman Lake - went for a 15 mile moutain bike ride - had to carry our bikes up a hill for 2 miles - it was really hot and sunny. My bottom was very sore on Monday so I somewhat appreciate where you are at. We camped for 3 nights and had no showers so had to wash off in the lake which was filled with snow water so it was rather cold. Did a bit of off roading as well in the VW Golf which was a little hair raising - we were the only ones without a truck, SUV or 4 wheel drive!!!

SF is a lot colder, almost back to wearing autumnal clothes again!

Work is pretty busy for the 2 of us.....but fun. We are home this weekend - I have to work on Sunday.

love
