Set off again on the last leg to Athens. Spotted a nifty shortcut, caught a ferry to Salamina Island in the Saronik gulf, the bay outside Athens, and cycled across the Island to another ferry that took us to Perana just south of Athens. This cut out a large section of the bay which we would have had to follow all the way round and also meant we avoided entering Athens on the major arteries. Traffic was still heavy though and we were glad of the gps to guide us seamlessly to the campsite in the outskirts of the city.
