Day off in Kobarid

Today Luke spent a happy afternoon on the Soca river kayaking. Not only did he get an individual lesson, but he had two instructors one of whom was a world championship competitor. We spent the rest of the evening in a café chatting with Darren, a Kiwi cycle tourist who's working as a trekking guide in the surrounding mountains. We were glad to at last find someone like minded to swap bike tales with.

Managed to get some really good views on google earth of Kobarid area and Soca river, even down to the lovely meltwater colour of the river. It looks really beautiful there and the gorge and the rapids look pretty exciting too Luke. Was also able to track you route up and down the pass into Kobarid -nice little bit of exercise for you both there I think. Some very good photos on google earth of the area - hope you have taken some too. XX

Just got round to looking at the Videos -loved the one of Oma singing - perfect! Also liked the one of you 2 in the tent during a storm - what fun.

Do have to say I enjoy reading daddydoc's comments as much as finding out what you 2 are up to.

Lovely hot sunny days here. I am going to a course this weekend so will be stuck inside.

However next weekend Alex is taking me away to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. Cool - we have 2 dates to celebrate as yes we have our wedding anniversary coming up in just under 4 months!

Looking forward to seeing the Kayaking photos - I'm sure it was a fun trip. Callie what did you get up to while Luke was risking his life on the river?

Make lots of Kiwi friends as I think that is where you need to explore next it is supposed to be an amazing place especially if you love the outdoors.
